Anything by Wen Spencer. Dennis McKiernan, Raymond Feist has a good book called FAERIE TALE which is sort of like a cross between the movies Poltergeist and House. Books by James Rollins, Jack duBrul, Ted Bell, Raymond Khoury, Chris Kuzneski. Matthew Reilly is the King of thriller writers. Then the books by authors Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child that started with Relic and Reliquary and progress up to the last book in the Special Agent Pendergast series THE BOOK OF THE DEAD are great books. Douglas Preston also wrote a book singly called THE CODEX and Lincoln Child wrote a single called DEATH MATCH, both are good reads. Two more books that stretch the imagination while reading are HEROES DIE and THE BLADE OF TYSHELLE by Matthew Woodring Stover. A new series by S.M. Stirling starting with DIES THE FIRE in the first book and THE PROTECTOR'S WAR in the second. Still waiting for the third book. Have fun, happy reading during the holidays. I am rereading AMAZONIA by James Rollins right now.

Gentlemen and Players, Joanne Harris: Really well-written suspense/mystery. Characters are believable and well-developed. Was in the top-5 books I read last year.

If you like books that talk about climactic changes and other such type, but on the fiction side, and you like long books, get your hands on a copy of "The Swarm" by Frank Schatzing. It was translated from German, and is really interesting to read. It's great fiction, in the apocalyptic we've ruined our planet, and now it's coming back to destroy us kind of way. It's really original and interesting (you learn a lot at the same time!)

The best book I read is out of print now, but worth looking into if you want a great story to read. Look up "Phantom" by Susan Kay. It's a fictional life story of Eric, The Phantom of the Opera. I can't recommend that book enough. Seriously. ; )
