A group of writers combine together and write a story. etc...so Is there a nice "group name" for them?

The collective? The writer's workshop?
It really depends on the number of writers. Five or less, list each contributor singlely in alphabetical order. More than five, elect on author to act as editor to smooth the styles together. When it is published, list it as being edited by this author and list the contributors separately in a preface. Alternatively, you could list each chapter's author in the table of contents and on the page the chapter begins.

Example: Chapter One "A Quiet Interlude" by John Doe
