The book isn't available in my area, but it's for a research task I have to do at school.

Google has been a pain and didn't show up with too many results.

A Sense of Belonging by Witi Ihimaera that is.

Thanks.

I'd appreaciate some dot pointers of this story.

I'm watching it now and I'm thinking that there is some important issues, outside of Christmas, that are poeticaly/metaphorically/dharm... included in the story.

Examples: The sexy leg trophy that the Dad thinks his wife is jealous of, and the disapointment of the child finding out that the secret message of is Ovaltine club is an advertisment.

Answering another question made me think of the last book I gave an honest shot at finishing (made it 2/3 of the way through) but just couldn't make myself care enough to follow it through to the end.

For myself, that book was The Coast of Akron. Poorly developed characters and scenes that just seemed to go on forever with no apparent plot advancement.

I felt like I knew what the ending would be about a 1/4 of the way into book. Who knows, there could be some twist ending that I never made it to, but I don't really care enough to ever find out.

The bad part is that I grew up in Akron and I'm an artist (the book takes place in Akron - though very little of the books details signify as such, other than the author just continually saying so - and the book also centers around an artist) and I still couldn't make myself finish that book.

If I could point a magic gun at people I don't wish to deal with and turn them into persons whom i could never see or hear, so that although they would remain alive, and even might be present with me in the same place, yet to me it would be as if they never exist or have exited ever. They would turn into non persons, they would turn into ______________________

Have you ever experienced when you know what to write next, but you just don't know how to write it, how to express it in words let's say? Because I have that right now, and I don't know why. Is this writer's block? And do you have any advice about how to get over it?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas! :)
