A friend here in Melbourne is a neighbour and good friend of her sister Jane, who is a gardener. Jane expects GG to visit Melbourne in the next few weeks, apparently, as she often does this time of year, so if her family think she's alive and well...

I think the one who has declared her dead has her confused with
Betty Friedan. Her "The Feminine Mystique" helped shatter the cozy suburban ideal in postwar America. She died age 85 on Feb. 4 of this year.
