You should check out the original Grimm Brothers Tales they are all full of morals, and lessons. The only issues is some are a little extreme for smaller children! Be sure to read them first. Example: In Cinderella everyone knows that right? Well anyway in the real story the step sisters cut off their toes to fit the slipper, but are caught once it fills up with blood. See what I mean? Be extra careful!

Most of the well-known shorter fairy tales were written in order to moralize to children.

Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, Beauty and the Beast, Bluebeard, The Frog Prince, and Pinnochio are some you can easily find.

If you'd rather have a story, try The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

Watch "Mary Poppins" or the "Sound of Music". All are based on family values, and that children are the most important issues in the family unit. Both movies had fathers who were strict, no nonsense types. They found it difficult to show affection to their children, demonstratively, either because of their jobs or because of a loss of a wife and mother. After intervention by a nanny with magical touches or by a nun who falls in love with a rigid man, family situations are drastically improved because they are shown that children are more than just objects--that they should be allowed to be children and that parents should share time with them and to love them in a hands-on way. Nothing could be more beautiful than to have parents who love their children, and children to love their parents.
