I'm trying to analyze "A Noiseless Patient Spider" by Walt Whitman

The poem goes like this:
A noiseless patient spider,
I mark’d where on a little promontory it stood isolated,
Mark’d how to explore the vacant vast surrounding,
It launch’d forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself,
Ever unreeling them, ever tirelessly speeding them.

And you O my soul where you stand,
Surrounded, detached, in measureless oceans of space,
Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the spheres to connect them,
Till the bridge you will need be form’d, till the ductile anchor hold,
Till the gossamer thread you fling catch somewhere, O my soul

So far I can tell that the speaker is obviously relating to the way a spider casts its web to his soul searching for a place to build

be the first to name the book the following poem is found in. (and name the author. I know the where it's found, do you??

All that is gold does not glitter
Not all those who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not reached by the frost
A fire from the ashes shall be woken
A light from the shadow shall sping
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king

Here are some of my all time favorites: Animal Farm, Anthem, Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies, 1984. The best books I've ever read have been under 300 pages, and apparently, I read them all in High School.

A. Do you think it'd get published (let's say it's a really good book)?

It was a thin book and I think it came out about 9 or ten years ago. A child, I think a girl, lived in the walls of her house. I wasn't able to decipher then, though it is obvious to me now, that this was pretty much in her mind only. She has a mean mother, possible siblings, and well, she lived in the walls. ANY IDEAS?

First book. There are several characters. It's mainly about a girl called Hero who chooses not to speak to anyone but her brother Alto, loves climbing trees, has a sister called Sapphire who has a weird dictionary, and her mother is an author. Hero also does some gardening jobs for some old woman, and there's a boy called Sam involved in it somewhere. That isn't the main storyline, but it's loosely based around this lot.

Second book. It's sci-fi, involves a star that actually stays on a planet, very few people are allowed to go near it, those that do run the risk of going mad and have to wear protective gear. It either burns out or someone else needs it, I can't remember it exactly, but the star has to be taken away from its current residential position. It follows a boy, and a girl who comes across as being a bit sulky/a boy hater, as they take the star on its journey. I have no idea what it's called or who its by. Please help.

Jeremy Paxman got a 2i in literature from Cambridge (didn't he?), and BBC presenters are given pronunciation guidelines. So he must be right. Yet this pronunciation doesn't tally with what we were taught in A level French, and Charlotte did base it on her experiences in Belgium. I did get an E however, perhaps I fell down on pronunciation. PS don't pick on me for not using the umlaut in Bronte, sorry but I never do as everyone knows who you mean anyway.
