I read this book ages ago and would love to find it again. However, I'm sure it's well out of print and I don't know the author. It's a humourous look at how to capture famous monsters like Dracula, Wolfman, The Mummy, etc. and then how to keep them around.

The more popular, the better. I haven't read too much in the way of fiction. However, I thoroughly enjoyed 1984 and Brave New World.

I have also just finished reading the Journey East by Herman Hesse and the more modern, but still quite good, life of pi. I was thinking about Catch 22, Siddhartha, or the Satanic Verses as my next read, but does anyone have any suggestions for a guy who has greatly enjoyed the works listed above?

In the 28th century, the powers that be detect a sublight extrasolar vessel that's going to arrive in the Sol System in about a century. This sparks a huge debate. First, should the general public be told? Second, should they accept the possible occupants of the alien with open arms or assume the worst?
They decide to send a polite message-a sort of "hello, we know you're coming"-and hope for a reply. They get a reply and realize that these aliens are pilgrims in search of their gods. So, they decide to set up a separate colony for them where the people in power can at least keep an eye on them. However, the news sparks riots and worse among the general population and the powers that be have to crack down on this. Things go from bad to worse and the people in power have to destroy one or two existing colonies to make a point. When things calm down, the scrap from the destroyed colonies is used to make a new one, and the aliens are able to settle peacefully in the Sol System.

I love writing and I've been toying around with this idea:
Abigail Anderson's life dramatically changed ten years ago when she killed her would be rapist, her brother Devon. After countless hours of therapy, her parents sent her to an institution, believing that to be the only way to help their daughter. After she was released it seemed Abby might have a chance at a normal life. She graduated high school and then college becoming a real estate broker. One day, she arrives at a house she is getting ready to show. When she walks inside she's shocked when she opens the door and sees pictures of her brother all around the room. Scribbled on the floor is "you will pay" in red letters. After ten years, her brother is coming back to haunt her. Someone is making sure of that.
Just give me your thoughts. Should I hang it up or keep writing?

I forgot the title of a romance book I read last year and it's really nagging at me. It's about a woman working with orphans in a South American country. She wants to get them to the US but she needs help so she enlists a rough photographer to help her by secuding him in a bar. To ward off his subsequent advances she poses as a nun. They fall in love, of course. Anyone know the title??
