The Long Haul
Written By Semper Fi Reborn
I'd rather be home,
But I have to deliver this load.
I can't remember a day,
When I wasn't on the road.
Sure my wife understands,
The kids understand.
That Daddy's a long haul,
Trucking man.
Delivering supplies we need,
That the pulic craves.
My rig and me,
Have to work like slaves.
Seperated from home,
On a stretch of tar,
Or dirt, snow or gravel,
We have to travel,
So far.
To my family most times,
I'm a voice on the phone.
My wife takes care of the business at home.
My world is lonely,
And far less appealing.
But to make ends meet,
I'm 18 wheeling.
I guess I'm doing this,
For all of y'all.
I'm a trucking man or woman,
And I'm on the long haul.
