I know people do odd stuff for the sake of fashion, but the women in the 1800's really wore inpractical dresses. Why bother wearing long, ruffled dresses when it's hot? If you're working, why not wear shorts and a plain shirt with a sun hat?

it's as if, what I've always believed in, as "reality" is somehow not solid anymore; like i'm on a film set where the buidlings are only facades. everything seems transient and insubstantial; i feel lost. because if what i'm feeling is true; what is real that i can believe in? does anyone else feel like this? is there an answer to it?
