Arts & Humanities - 5 November 2006

One may have spent just 15-20 years before migrating to another place where one leads the entire adult life - where one contributes to the society and draws from the society - and yet the special feeling for the place of birth not only continues, but also grows with age. Also it does not become out of mind due to being out of sight.
Can some one provide an in-depth analysis of the reasons for this please?

Our theatre company has a couple of scripts which we have written ourselves - a panto, and a historical comedy which we have performed to good reviews... we are considering making the performance rights available to others, come next spring. How should we go about this?

I notice that Western Civilization managed to get great success due to the fact that we encourage open debate and philosophy. Actually, a lot of the advancement of Western Civilization is thanks to free speech.

Does anyone think that Asia will one day reach the stage where open debate and philosophy (free speech) is accepted?

Each of us has two parents [well apart from Immaculate Conceptions of which only one is historically recorded]

and each of us has four grandparents for the same reason.

So for each generation we go back we double the number of ancestors at that generation?

My ancestors trace back 30 generations in Ireland and we can track about 5 more back through Wales, England to Normandy around the time of the Norman Invasion of England in 1066.
GEN32. is actually 2 to the power of 31 ancestors
which considerably more than the whole population (at that time) of the British Isles and France.

Have I that many ancestors?
Has biology failed me?
Or Maths?
Or logic?
