Sorry If I sound confusing by this.

But is there a way to find out the history of a family somewhere online, by searching by the last name?

I grew up never knowing my father but I do know things about him. One of those things is that I know he's Italian and his last name. I have been searching for a few years to find stuff about my Italian herritage, he was 100% Italian so I know that I have alot of Italian blood in me.

So I wanted to know if there was somewhere I could just type in the last name and find out where the ancestors of that name came from, like what part of Italy.

I would perfer it to be free of cost but if there is somthing where I can find that out, i doubt it would be.

I'm basically just looking for a good read at the moment. I've very interested in Sci-Fi and Fantasy, as I've found these genres to be the most mindbending, stimulating and immersive of all fiction. I love The Ender Series by Orson Scott Card, The Dark Tower by Stephen King, Tad Williams' Otherland, and so on and so on. I started George R.R. Martin's Fantasy series which was good, but I'm looking for something a bit different. I also started Amber, which is really a great series, but I'm looking for something compulsively readable as well as thought provoking and rich.

Any thoughts?

We cannot see the future, we cannot change the past, we can only live in the now with an eye towards gaining enough power in the future to wreak revenge on everyone who ever screwed us in the past.
