I think only dancers should answer this question not observers. Any true dancer professional or not will tell you dancing is an art form, NOT a sport. Its a way to express creativity and be competitive if you want. I choose hiphop, popping, and locking. But have also done jazz, tap , and ballet.
Just because you are dedicated and practice does not make it any closer to a sport. I can be dedicated and practice the violin, does that mean i play a sport? NO! You can play a sport but you cant play dance. Sports are GAMES with RULES, But there are NO boundries with art. I live and Breath underground, raw, dance battles, conventions and shows. We call ourselves ARTISTS.
Dance is art in motion. Music is art you can hear. A painting is art you can hang on your wall. Art, and sport 2 different things. If you dance and consider it a sport, might as well be a cheer leader, closest thing too it!

Dancing in the original form is an ART. However, over a period the mankind has observed that some parts of dancing also helps one keep fit and trim and so this was adopted into Sport too!!
So today we can probably say Dancing as Artistic Sport!!!!

Hmm..it can be looked upon in two ways
1)as an art- dance can be considerd as an art as there is a fairly huge amount of artistry involved in it
2)as a sport- these days mostly dance is based on competition and as competition is a major aspect of sport....it could also be called a sport
But i would really go for.....art...

Dancing is both a sport and an art.
I have just recently taken up ballroom dancing after learning the martial arts for some years. There are numerous similarities.
It is an art because it is a vehicle where one can express themselves.
It is also a sport because how one expresses themselves can be competitive in the arena.
Shall we dance?

Depends on who's doing it. It's probably a mix. How much grace is there and how much exercise.? What are the attitudes of the dancers? Is the outcome in doubt (sport). There is some art in any sport. Think about it.... They're not mutually exclusive.

"Dance... game or no longer a game? I genuinely have danced for now 11 years and that i've got continually heard a number of issues. Dance is game. Dance is an artwork kind. i'm no longer speaking hip-hop, ruin, or popping. i'm speaking approximately actual dancing. On en pointe, lyrical, and tapping. Competing against the different studios to win the platiumun trophy. it can not make a distinction whether it quite is or no longer, because of fact I won't provide up dancing, its the only reason i'm nevertheless alive. I in simple terms in simple terms want to correctly known what you may evaluate it. i individually evaluate it an artwork style of organic potential and emotions. you would be shocked how lots potential you need to be a expert dancer." it quite is yet another question which you asked, word any similarities???? Why challenge asking it two times in case you have reliable solutions on the two, and in addition to on the ohter one, somebody gave you a link to different questions like this one, with greater solutions. you're in simple terms using up area and dropping peoples time

Anything could be reasonably considered an 'art' form. I think 'sport' begs the 'competition' factor. It's an artistic and spiritual and physical art form and can be comparably competitive.

BOTH......it requires a lot of work, practice and dedication!!! Back in high school, our dance time practiced every morning from 5:30 - 8:30, all year round! No other sport practiced nearly as much as we did!
