We cannot see the future, we cannot change the past, we can only live in the now with an eye towards gaining enough power in the future to wreak revenge on everyone who ever screwed us in the past.

Friend, you are contradicting yourself!

You say or atleast seem to say that you are living in the present.May be physically. But , mentally you are totally in the past. Day and night you keep scrolling the list of people you hate , in your mind. Day and night you keep rehersing the methodology of revenge. And , yet you say you are living in the past. Ironical. It is the past that is destroying you NOw. It is the future that will destroy the tommorow,. You will never live for today, with this mental obsession.

In the process you are doing something , unnoticed even by yourself. In the "present", with you living in the past , there are more people whom you are antagonising and ignoring , that they , too , will become your target for revenge.

Oh! what a way to think

Do not know any one yet, including myself, who wants to take revenge on each and everyone who crossed him or her in the past. Some we want to and some others we forgive or just forget.
Secondly, the present is to be lived now and it ought to have an eye on some future plans - yes, but the plans ought to be proactive and positive - revenge is reactive and negative and invariably leads to higher risks and gives only some unreal satisfaction - it leaves a bad taste after event.

Wow...a lot of ego-centric bitterness there!

It's not all about you....and if so many people actually set out to "screw" you - then maybe you should take a look at what kind of person you are that causes so many people to want to intentionally hurt you.

Hopefully you don't really feel that way...if so, I feel sorry for you because you will have a miserable future if revenge is your main goal in life.

as for me...I'm taking care of my kharma, not taking things personally, focusing on what I can do right and good. Living in the now and looking for the beauty in everything.

Good luck!

We MAN can able to change our destiny...mind over matter! We can able to prepare our self and tried to be who and what we want to be in the future,we also can look back from the past and change all the mistakes we did...by doing that we are free to face the future. And we MAN need to learn how to forgive and forget...so, if we depart from this world and enter the door of heaven, somehow we have some good things to say about ourselves.

maybe we can't change the past, but we can learn from past to build better future, and now is also called present like a gift,so live in the moment don't waist your time on revenge or other negative things, because i believe what goes around comes around.enjoy life it's to short.

The past is there to learn from, and to recollect memories when old
The present is here to live and when can use the past to learn from we walk into tomorrow making less mistakes than yesterday

Huh! If only true...

My thought for today is how humanity is not only forgetting the rough side of yesterday, but ignorant today so can step blindly into tomorrow

I'm not talking about the general people here, but Korea and war is in mind-war and how we are repeating history rather than learning from it for the sake of humanity-for tomorrow

So where's the question? I've found love much more important than power, having tried both. But you need to try them too or you'll always wonder if you were missing something. Love gives, power takes. But the more love you get the more love you get, while power is ultimately a zero sum game. But you have to try them to find this out... at least most of us do.

Yeah, whatever. Sounds a bit trite to me. A lot of words, but very little real meaning just vapid New Age sentamentalism. If you think you've had a profound thought - well done. But there's no real thought gone into such observations. Sorry.
