Do you believe that the conflicts needed to be resolved? What do you think were the highlights of the Civil War, which rights were the most important obtained? Was it worth the 660k+ death count?

Personally, I believe that it was worth the cost of men and the destruction of property.

to be evolved to a higher altitude than most humans. Roaches can claim that they finished evolving long ago. Viruses can claim to be evolving faster than we are. Why do we think we are more highly evolved than anything? What makes us think that this supposedly random process has a direction that we can discern and arrogantly claim that we are further along than anything else on earth? Isn't this a circular definition of evolution? How do we define "Most High"?

I think philosophers collude maliciously to coadvertise their work while shutting the general public out of the directory of philosophical credibility. Their actions in philosphy reflect the actions of monopolistically competitive companies in the economic sector. Like these companies, collusive behavior dominates the industry and is not openly regarded as wrong, in part because it increases the overall sales, productivity, and cohesiveness - whether it be the industry of widgets or philosophy books.

The painting is of the inside of a bus. The passengers are all weird looking and there is one man who is screaming at the front. The predominant colours and dark blue and black. It is reminiscent of Francis Bacon, but it isn't him.

I don't know how to search for it using Google, as I don't know the title of the piece, nor the artist. Any ideas would be most welcome.
