I needed some supplies from a Sunday school cupboard that was seldom used and was secured with a lock. I didn't know the combination, but our clergyman offered to give it a try.

Father Jack placed his fingers on the lock's dial and raised his eyes heavenward for a moment. Then he confidently spun the dial and opened the lock. Seeing how impressed I was with this emonstration of faith, he smiled and confided,

"The numbers are written on the ceiling."

On December 18th, The Republican Senate minority filibustered an omnibus budget bill, setting a modern-day record for blocking the most legislation during a congressional session. In just the first year of this two-year Congress, their use of the filibuster in the Senate topped the previous record, reached during the entire 107th Congress (also by the Republicans).

Way to go Republicans, thwarting the will of the majority! You must be soooo proud of yourselves.

I do agree you should not talk about death all the time because it will make life miserable, but shouldnt we have frequent discussions about it.Death will get you wherever you are and trying to avoid the question may not help.Death has no age,sex and its going to get us one day or another.
Dont we realise that in the year 2108 ninety nine percent of the 6 billion people currently living on earth will be dead.

We want eachother so bad we are both in relationships, he only wants sex but i have strong feelings for him, i know its a waste of time, it can't go anywhere as he will never change. If he can cheat on her he'll do it to me. I don't want to fall for him my head tells me this but my heart wont listen. My boyfriend is loving loyal and caring i know nothing good can ever come with the other guy but i feel what i feel. I want to, need to see him but it's the holidays so i can't. I feel so sad. Do you think your head can over rule your heart?

This comes from another question which claimed that women earn less than men because they work less. All the reasons why were associated with having children, which any full time parent will tell you IS work, and hard work at that, just not paid, and judging by the misogynist attitude to divorced women getting alimony, not at all valued either.
When a woman works less in paid work because she is doing most of the childcare why is it not reasonable to redress that in some way?
If a man took on most of the childcare and the woman carried on working (still a rare arrangement) would both men and women think that this was 'taking "equality" too far'? Or should men be given incentives to do this? If a man were given incentives would that be discrimination?
