I do agree you should not talk about death all the time because it will make life miserable, but shouldnt we have frequent discussions about it.Death will get you wherever you are and trying to avoid the question may not help.Death has no age,sex and its going to get us one day or another.
Dont we realise that in the year 2108 ninety nine percent of the 6 billion people currently living on earth will be dead.

Interesting that I find your Q just now. I just finished a paper which I entitled, "In Search of an Alternate Exit Plan!" Of course, I'm 78, so death doesn't scare me--if I ever thought of it before. If you accept emails, I'll send you a copy.

Everyone's afraid of the unknown, and everyone is afraid of losing their loved-ones. I'm sorry to say that this is the reason that most people don't speak about death often.

Most people feel that they need more time, in order to reach the goals they have set for themselves. Some families are very tight-knit, and the thought of losing one of the members is too difficult to think of...much less speak of.

My husband's parents passed away in the 1980s, and they NEVER told their three boys anything--other than where their burial sites were, and that the insurance would cover it.

My own parents never spoke of it, either...though, they always did take out insurance on joint loans, etc. in the event that one did die prematurely.

I never feel the need to talk about it. I'm not scared of it either. I guess you just have to come to terms with the fact that one day your not gonna be at work and there's nothing your boss can do about it.
