see i hav a coin collection tht iv'e had 4 oo god knows how long. Iv'e tried so many ways but my collection keeps gettin bigger i hav about 25 countries with 1-30 coins from each. mmk. so i am a senior in highschool and going off to college next year. my dad always played music and i was raised in a very music environment. i never really knew what i wanted to do in college until recently, which i am still not exactly sure, but i know it's something in the music field. but i was homeschooled for a few years, went to high school, went through a rough period (eating disorder..still trying to get 100 percent better) and was always a little shy and never really thought i was anything special..or saw music as anything important. I am now finding it hard to play music out without getting really self concious and don't think i should bother writing anything, cause how could i do anything different or anything worth listening to? i need some advice in not only getting over this fear, but in also getting over my extreme self conciousness so that i'm not second guessing myself forever. suggestions?

My brother just lost his fiance' (I always thought she was a little psycho but bit my tongue b/c I knew he loved her with all his heart). The wedding was in 15 days, and I already have non-refundable airline tickets to get me out there for the event that is no longer to be. I'm still going out....but to just visit I guess.

My brother is devastated. He lost his entire future. He loved this girl, AND her two sons (ages 5 and 2) and gave them everything he had. He had assumed the role of a Daddy so beautifully. And she just told him that she "just can't do it". Gave him back his ring, and he hasn't heard another word from her.

I'm going to be out there, but feel so terrible about it. What can I do to help him? He has never had his heart broken like this before. What can I do as the big sister?

I just got offered a job last week and accepted it, contingent
on a reference and initial background check.

I informed my current boss at this point that I intend to change jobs, since they would be calling for the reference check.

I can't give formal, written notice until I get a start date,
and I can't get that until I pass the reference check.

They are "on notice" I intend to leave now.

I see comments that two weeks is too short a notice.

I thought it was standard to do that.

Is two weeks still acceptable for notice?

My job winds down over the holidays,
so they would have until January to find a
replacement.

Just thinking outside the box here...

Many studies worldwide and even by our own FDA have found that many previous conceptions of the "ill side effects" of Marijuana are indeed false. Most notably, the misconception that Marijuana kills brain cells.

What I'm wondering is, why is the lack of motivation considered an "ill side effect"?

Perhaps it is the "human condition" that is the side effect of living in this high pressured world of materialistic ownership and status enhancement. Could it be possible that the lack of motivation people experience when high is actually a similar benefit, akin to the helpful anti-anxiety and increased appetite experienced by smokers when using prescribed medicinal Marijuana?

I have had a Sony Viao RB53X for about a year and a half now. Last December for Christmas I recieved 1gig of RAM to install. When I did, my BIOs chip went bad and I had to get a secondary hard drive installed and a new BIOS chip.

Well I've had problems with the onboard video chip, (Intel Graphics Media Accelerater Driver) and got a GeForce 5400FX last February. About 5 months ago it went bad and my computer was having problems and would overheat and shut-down.

I replaced the 5400FX with an nVidia GeForce 8500GT about 4 months ago.

Today I restarted my PC and it beeped twice as usual, but the monitor gave me a "cable not connected" error. I unplugged the monitor form the video card and into the onboard Intel chip and it came on.

So now I have the same problem that I had with my bad 5400FX and it won't register the 8500GT card. I've tried installing newest drivers but it tells me it cannot locate the hardware.

Any ideas on what the problem might be, and how to fix it?
