I wanted to know if this new system can also work with DirectX 9- based sound card, although many consumer electronics company like Creative don't have plans to make a new DirectX 10-based sound card.

You seem to think that Microsoft introduces new features in every aspect of DirectX in every revision. That is NOT true.

DX10 basically added support for Shader 3.x on 3D side... and nothing else. Soundcards haven't had anything new happening since Creative's X-Fi.

Thus, there's no such thing as DX-anything based sound card. As long as you have current DX drivers for it, you are covered.

DX10 is a graphics specification. ATi is starting to build cards that will go into older systems and support DX10.
A DX10 card is backwards compatible and supports DX9.
