My husband works at a company called Smurfit-Stone. GP is buying them out but GP only bought the company and not the employees. So at the end of the month all employees will be terminated and they had to reapply for their jobs. If the old employees are not hired back do they have to offer a severance package or anything? He has worked there 8 years and never had any trouble. Don't know what can be done if they don't rehire him?!?! Thanks in advance for any help. And we are located in Alabama if state law makes any difference. Thanks!

Travelling in a vehicle at 120km a fly is hovering in the middle of the vehicle totally oblivious to the movement (sure there is no wind resistance etc). At 140km the fly is still not plastered to the back window, how fast do you think you can go before the fly can feel it?

I'm not an avid Oprah viewer, in fact hardly ever...except once in a while she has a topical guest on such as today's interview with Mary Winkler, "the Wife who killed her Pastor husband".
And I wanted to hear her side of the story...but I'm having a problem trying to stay with her short and undefining sentences.

I'm only about half-way through the show but...what's wrong with this woman, Mary Winkler?
What was her level of education? She sounds like she can hardly communicate her feelings or explain exactly what went on and I find myself getting slightly irritated trying to understand where she's coming from.

Did she get off "too easy"?
Just what is the deal with Mary Winkler?

Whose is agreement Bonds should go after this season. Id rather not have him back. For all hes done for the team in the past, hes also brought a dark cloud over San Francisco. SF is looked down upon is the baseball world as being Barry lovers and supporters. Thats not true for all SF fans. He used to be my all time favorite player. After the allegations and finding out hes supposedly an ******, id rather let him go and REBUILD.

Rebuild is a word not in the Giants vocabulary. It needs to be added.

I'm in the process of shopping around for windows to replace the existing (yet very old single pane) ones in my house. I understand there are double pane windows with and without Argon gas between the panes. However, I don't understand what the Argon gas does or why it makes the windows that have it more expensive. Incredibly, the salesman who tried to sell me the more expensive windows - the ones with Argon gas - did not know exactly what it does or why it is contained in some windows and not in others.

Please help - if you can - with plain english explanations or information.

We had some incidents that bordered on racial, (her being iranian and me being asian),but after i've tried to smooth things out the last few times this year, by being polite respectful and trying to restrain my temper(which makes me burn because i'm still pissed)she seems to be wanting to try to be near me,try to get my attention want my attention etc.....I don't oblige because i'm still pissed even though i tried to9 smooth thongs and won't give her satisfaction,but anyway,what do i make of her behavior?There were incidents in the past where i snapped and drove her out,but what do i make of all of this?

My grlfrnd got an abrtion bcuz we had unprotected sex but I didnt ***.That I delt with fine and we got through it. Now-about a lil over a month later we had sex but I only put it in for litterally a second, and only the tip.She got scared and said she wanted me to get her a home pregncy test.So I did it came out posative.But it doesnt make anysense bcuz she took it the day or two after we had "sex" and the box says to wait until u miss ur period. idid some checking and found out that it could be the hormones from the last abortion meds they gave her.She is emotional and nervous/worry wart kind of person and is now always like-my stomache is getting bigger. we went and got a preg tes ata clinic, but she got scred nd wlked out be4 she got her rsults nd they wnt give them to her over the fone.i got a ticket frm a d-bag SPECIAL policeofficer that i have to go to court for so iv bn preparing for that 2.SATs r cumin up and skool isnt ne easyer.now i have a coldnd i lst my voice

My husband will be deploying for Baghdad sometime between November and December. The situation is that my father and step-mother are pressuring me to come out and visit them.

The holidays are basically out the window now as we can't be sure what day specifically he will deploy (the military changes dates a lot and can't be reliable). So I mentioned to dad about coming out in the next month before he leaves,with the new baby. He said he doesn't want to see the baby and wants me to bring my older daughter but he is so small I can't leave him with dad even. I have two babies (18 month old daughter, and 4 month old son) and it is impossible for me to fly there alone with them both. I explained all that to him and he acted weird. Truth be told, I want to get the visit out of the way because once my husband deploys I won't be able to fly and I can't understand why it's so hard for them to hop on a plane and come see us. My step-mom is a trouble maker but I ignore it, so what to do???????
