How much is my 1936 indian head nikel worth?

It is in perfect condition and is silver, but every site I go to has a different price.some sites had $3.00 some had $897.00. can you help me get this straight.

You don't mention a mint mark on your coin. It is located at the six o'clock position underneath the buffalo. No mintmark (Philadelphia) is by far the most common, D is Denver mint, and S is San Francisco mint.
A heavily worn coin is worth about 35 cents. A coin in uncirculated (as new with absolutely no wear at all) condition is worth about $20 - $25.
