I like watching streaming and dvd movies on my computer. My problem is that after 20 minutes of no activity (even when the movie is playing) my monitor goes black and gives me a "No Signal" message and then turns itself off. This has occasionally caused my computer to crash. To me, it feels like the computer wants to go into like a sleep or screen saver mode, because it happens after 20 minutes. I have tested this by moving my mouse at intervals during a movie and then have experienced no problems.

I assume there is something built into the monitor to turn it off if it does not seem to be in use.

Any ideas?

I know I'm not supposed to be questioning on things like this, but I'm just curious on it. If someone is driving in a car, washing dishes, anything thats physically, what do you think will happen when judgment day comes. Please nice answers y'all, because there is some things I just would like to hear peoples answers from, but I'm a Christian, thanks alot!!!!!!!

i just graduated from high school and i am facing the biggest decision i have ever had to make. i live have been living with my mom for the last 10 years b/c her and my dad spilt up. Lately i have been bumping heads with her BIG time! it seems like this family isnt for me anymore..like i dont belong here anymore. This summer i visited my dad in California and we had a blast. When im there i feel like im finally home. im happy there. i want to move there and go to college in Cali but he doesnt have any money for me to go so i will have to take out an OUTSTANDING loan to pay for school [$80,000]. But if i stay with my mom she will pay for my college but there are no schools i really wanna go so ill b forced to go sumwhere close to her. so do i got where im happy and can go to college for what i have always dreamed of or do i stay where the money is for my college even tho it isnt my 1st or 2nd or even my 3rd choice in regards to majors. im torn.

Hi,
This is A tricky one. My parents split up when I was 14 and I lived with my dad for a few years. He then remarried and one day, whilst I was at college, he wrote to me to ask me not to ever come home again. That was thirteen years ago and I have had no contact at all with him since then.
A lot of water has passed under the bridge, and all of the hurt and anger I felt back then has faded away.
My brother, who still sees my dad, sent me an email to tell me that he is dying. He had a hear attack a few years ago but now he has been diagnosed with a brain tumour. He has been given between 3 months and 2 years to ive. He hasn't asked to see me or even asked my brother to tell me about him, so I feel very confused.
In the 13 years that have passed, I have got a new life. I am married and have a 2 year old daughter. I would like to see him before he dies, but worry that he will turn me away, and I do not feel that I could handle the rejection again. Any advice welcomed.

To be clear, I do not mean via any technological route or any sort of trickery. I mean for instance that I look at the wall beside me - is there anything my mind can do to turn the simple act of paying attention to the wall into actually causing changes within the atoms of the wall - even if only on the subatomic level? That's just an example scenario, feel free to refer to it or to any other mind/matter scenario you wish in your reply.

I'm posting this here instead of the religion & spirituality forums because if it can occur at all, the type of phenomenon I'm inquiring about would be empirically verifiable and thus within the realm of science. Unfalsifiable answers and speculations based on things which are not empirically observable - these things need not apply. ;-)

I don't think its wrong at all. I used to do it all the time and in fact, I think it is being a responsible husband. Seriously, women still need a man to be their 'father figure' after leaving 'the nest'. It helps to fill in a void and makes them feel safe.

okay so this is really just to see what your opinions are
many tell me that a 3 month old can not possible know what they want, i beg to differ. my 3 months old son cries when he wants fed, his diaper changed or attention, now the attention part is really funny for my son, because on ocassion through out the day he will cry and cry and cry until we put him on his "throne" ( it''s the part between the cushions on the couch that are perfect for proping up babies so they don't go side to side) as soon as we do this he's fine, at other times he will not stop crying until his dad picks him up or at certain times of the day he wants me instead of his dad. he also will cry until i walk him around or prop him up in my lap to look around. i love it. he is so much fun, but when peole say that a baby doesn't know what they want i think that they confuse it with that the baby doesn't care, ( well thats just a theory in the works right now)
