Advantages:
1. Get a security from ur husband in terms of protection from other guys who r on a lookout and also from the lousy society who doesn't let a single women live peacefully.
2. Be a mother to the kids who are loved by a good father so half the tensions gone.
3. Get to give out orders and demand things from the husband which are out of her reach...this is called NAGGING lol.
4. Spend some money from a generous husband on the luxuries, go out with hubby dear to good restaurants, etc
5. Ofcourse have a good sex anytime with the husband .
All the above points are applicable only and only when the husband is really a good person not a supersonic beeyat*h lol and also who loves his wife truly.
Disadvantages:
1. Cook, clean, watch the kids, do clothes, fetch kids from school, feed them, clean them, clean mess around the house, etcccccc.
2. Get beaten by the good hubby who just sits around ordering and feels like the ultimate BOSS at home coz he ain't one where he works.
3. Get abused and looked down upon by her hubby and inlaws.
4. Run errands which the husband is supposed to do but who doesn't do it for hez either mighty busy at work or simply doesn't bother bout his home and family.
5. Entertain loads and bushels of friends who are invited for dinner by the husband, his relatives coming and living at home, and after all the entertaining when the wifes bonre tired she has to have sexxxxxxx for it's free for the husband and it's a duty for the wife to fulfill all her husbands needs as she did a big favour marrying this man for herself !!!!
Dude there are so many disadvantages but then u ask for 5 yet i've almost mentioned some in each points lol . Being a wife to a good guy is more important then just being a wife to a guy whoz heartless, senseless and who doesn't respect his better half.

advantages:1)there is someone who will decide for you 2) you have someone to talk to, to lean on 3) it is nice to belong to someone, to be loved 4) your being a woman has some meaning since you're a wife 5) you don't have to decide on major issues since it is the husband's job, ideally
disadvantages: 1) you'll always be subservient to your husband 2) you can never decide on your own alone, it must always be both of you 3) you can never be totally independent since the head of the family is the husband 4) it is sometimes demeaning when you still have to ask money from your husband just to buy some basic necessities 5) if ever you have the bad luck of being married to a jerk, then your life will be a living hell.

Are you talking about the married kind of wife, or is defacto included?
Advantages- you have:
*Someone to share life's journey with.
*Someone to create a family with.
*Someone who understands you and likes you the way you are.
*Someone to be proud of your achievements.
*Someone who appreciates your attention.
Disadvantages-
*The inevitable power imbalance that comes from being financially dependent when you are raising kids and not working full time
*Having to clean up after the wretched man! Of course, you don't really have to, but the house will look like a bomb site if you don't.
*Having to compete with his work for attention
*Having to compromise your goals and desires
*Can't think of another :)
I was told that marriage (and kids) are both the best and worst that life has to offer. I've found that to be true...
