Were Abu Ghraib and guantanamo Bay detainees humiliated more than Marine Corps Recruits during Boot Camp?

Much had been said in the Media about the humiliation of Iraqi detainees especially regarding the issue of forced Nudity. From Personal Experience I can relate that much of what went on in Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo were similiar to the humiliations heeped upon me and my fellow recruits during Boot Camp @ Parris Island in 1984. It had been stated that Rumsfeld may be tried as a war criminal if found guilty by the German High Courts. Additionally, a great majority of the American Public would like to see all those MP's given longer prison terms. Well what about the DI's in Marine Corps bootcamp? or the recruits who operate under their strict draconian brand of discipline? I think we (marines) were/are far more humiliated from the moment we took to the infamous yellow foot-prints upon arrivaI. Is there anyone out there that sees the hypocracy/bias of the media when it comes to their own men in uniform besides me? Why don;t newspeople, or the american public in general care about us?

Delicate question????

I'm not happy about this but i'll get straight to the point, to get back at an ex before finishing completely i one last time showed him what he was missing, and he sat down afterwards and asked me to take him back now i cannot get rid, my question is has anyone else made love to their ex, or done something as a reminder of what they will be missing...this is not about getting them back at all, it's just something i felt i had to do it made it easier for me to move on.... was this wrong of me?

The reason we finished is simply because we couldn't see eye to eye on anything except one thing (sex).

What part of new york or boston would you say i should visit to obtain certain information regarding my research, without appearing to intrusive.
Ideally some bars/diners where some of the old neighbourhood folks have settled over the years, not necessarily connected to the family, just knowledgable of that particular era. 50s 60s etc.

Did the Huns encounter racism in Europe?

I have some theories. It is known that Attila the Hun had once studied in Rome as a hostage prince. He later returned to his Hunnic kingdom with a burning rage towards Rome and immediately sought to conquer Rome when he became king. Why did he have this obsessed hate towards Rome? Could it be due to racism he experienced as a child while in Rome (sources describe his Asian features)? Although there were times when he treated Germanic and Slavic tribes cruelly, there were also instances when he treated them fraternally too. He proclaimed himself king of all barbarians regardless of race. He even intermarried with German princesses (Hilda, or Ildico in Roman). But, the Germans later turned against his sons and grandsons claiming they were treated as slaves under the Hunnic confederation. Maybe the Germans also rebelled because they realize that mixing with the Huns were changing their racial features? Southern Germans and Austrians today don't look like the northern Germans.

network problem?

I have 2 xp pcs connected tru lan.the connection however disconnects after a fews mins after the systems are powered on.what could be the problem.i get a warning that the system is not accessible/u may not have permission to use the network resources/a specified authentication package is unknown.the thing is that evrything is fine for a few mins after power up.

monitor reads no input signal?

I have just bought a brand new system.I have connected my monitor to the tower with the lead provided.I have connected the built in speakers to the tower also.The tower and the monitor are both plugged into the mains.Everything works just fine.Windows vista starts up fine.When i come to shut down.I click on the shutdown button the computer shuts down.The monitor goes blank and then for a few seconds "No input signal" appears on the screen then goes off.Please, is this normal.If not what could be the problem.Thankyou

edible crops in the shade?

I have a huge backyard with a lot of woods. There are bare spaces. It does not get a lot of sunlite. I would like to grow something there I could eat. Chives? Garlic? Mushrooms? Whatever does not require a lot of sun. Any suggestions?

Why do people pass of the ideas/beliefs/thoughts of others as their own? I noticed a pal of mine has been?

answering questions on Answers with things that we have discussed and is saying things almost the way I would. Things like making yourself vulnerable to truly get close to someone. The importance of mothers/parents in their children's lives.. lots of things from a feminist perspective etc.

Didn't realise I had such an impact on him and am feeling a bit bemused by it - yahoo thoughts?

Do I have to pay Custom Tax if I bought something from Canada that will be shipped in the US?

I'm planning to buy some Jessica Simpson cosmetics from eBay. The seller's location is in Canada and I plan to ask the seller to ship the items in my relatives' address in the US. I wonder if they'll be charged of custom taxes and if they have to go to the post office to get the items. Thanks! =)
