Unless you can find an attorney who is willing to file an official complaint, with you as the complaintant, against the United States, you question is moot, regardless of how many newspeople or those in the American public feel. Very few people are willing to "take on" the United States Government.
Your "humiliation" took place over 20 years ago. You and your fellow Marines chose not to speak. Give it up. Apparently, no one cared about you then, and no one cares about you now.

Your lack of understanding of interogation methods is obviously going to hinder any further conversation.
The "humiliation", even that deemed over the line is absolutely nothing in the grand scheme. In fact the publicity surrounding Abu Ghraib might have even helped the cause by instilling fear in the hearts of those about to be captured????
Survival school put boot camp and Gitmo to shame. That is where we get a taste of what to expect if captured.
The only thing worse would be Spec Forces eliminations, those guys are tough!
For having been a "Marine", you sure sound like a wimp. The Marines of 1984 are nothing compared to the Marines of 1969, you sir are whining about absolutely nothing and I find it shameful.

All at a Boot Camp are volunteers, the people incarcerated at Gitmo have yet to be proved guilty of anything either in a Court of Law or Military Tribunal and are certainly not volunteers to be in such a place. Its time the US got the finger out, tried them for being enemy combatants or lets them go.
I believe if Mr.Rumsfreld face a court it will be one in the Hague which is located in Holland and not in Germany.
As a ex-Marine you sure whine a lot.

IDIOT! Didn't you learn anything during Recruit training! The DI's did what they did to remove any and all individual thinking to replace it with Marine Corps thinking.Everyone must be on the same page during training. There is no room for individuals who can cause uncertainty and confusion during times when teamwork needs to be in place.
The prisoners in Gitmo and Abu Ghraib deserve the pain and abuse they brought on themselves. The detainees are NOT to be compared to UNITED STATES MARINE RECRUITS! EVER!!!They are NOT WORTHY to be compared to a MARINE! Get that in your pea sized brain!

I think you are a hero for serving!! Thank you!! And towards your initiation into the military I am sorry but think it as a sorority! And Guantanamo Bay detainees are not being treated as bad as you think they are!! The media is showing you what they want you too see!!! It might have been bad back then but not now!! It is changing for the better! And no one cares all they see is the bad and not the good!! I hope that helps!!!

All the marines volunteered to be there and accept the fact that they will be abused in training. The detainees at GITMO are all there against their will. Nothing more needs to be said!

No. It could have been worse. They could have been beheaded with a dull knife and had it broadcast over the internet!!
They could have been raped or had their genitals mutilated.
