just a thought as someone said that the seagulls wont go near the bags if something red is put on top of them. we have big problems with seagulls. may work for cats, dogs and foxes too.

My bf and I broke up three weeks ago. We were together for a year and a half, but the past 12 months we were doing long distance (Boston-NYC). We had planned on me moving to NY to be with him, but we had been fighting a ton. The fighting was mostly driven by me, but until we broke up I did not see it that way. When we broke up we were both unhappy with the current relationship, and agreed that after taking time to ourselves that we would talk to make sure that we had made the right decision. I moved to VT to stay with my mom after the breakup. Since the moment that I left him, I have been a wreck. I can't stop crying and can't stop thinking about what I should have done differently. My ex and I love each other very much, and talked about marriage and children all of the time (I am 28, he is 30). I have been trying to give him the space that we had agreed upon, but it seems impossible for me. We have only talked once. He says that he needs time. Does that mean he's moving on

Okay, so I have been interviewing for the past month for jobs, nothing really came through. Then, out of desperation & the fact that my savings is dwindling to nothing I took a job that I am waaay over-qualified for. Then, wouldn't you know it, my dream job, making nearly twice the pay called today & offered me the position. The problem is that I am still "training" at this current job & won't start my "real" job until 08/13/07. I need the money from the job that I am over-qualified for in the interim. Should I give notice, or just leave?

I got chatting regularly to a 19 year old girl then was eventually meeting her, phoning her etc. We ended up together then my bro came along and secretly met her and took her to see movies behind my back. she has now got 2 boyfriends and my 27 year old bro is one of them. They have had control of education for well over 16 years now and have had no real improvements. This Bush even let Teddy write the last bill that increased spending on education by billions. So why are our schools doing such a poor job? Specially inner city schools. What should be done to fix this problem? Would vouchers work? Would private profit driven mangement help? If someones pay depended on test scores would this cause teachers to care more about the performance of studests? Would punishing parents for kids actions at school cause some parents to take a more active approach to parenting? Just some thoughts. With education the key to Democracy you would think this would be a problem that needs to be addressed. Without education people just vote for who will give them the most out of others pockets.

I recently purchased a home, I was set to close on it 2 months before my lease was up. I posted an ad for a Sublette and decided on a young family and contacted the office and had the couple do so as well. They filled out an application and were approved a set to move. I move out clean everything, pay for new carpet and repaint the walls so it is like new for the people when they move in the next day. The next day I find out from my apartment management that the couple decided not to move in, I discuss with the manager what I can do and I am told that I will be responsible for the remainder of my rent until they can find a new tenet. 2 weeks later I get a letter in the mail saying I owe the apartment 3000.00 total 1600.00 for the remaining rent until my lease expires in August and 1400.00 in misc and subletting fees and if this amount is not paid in full in 2 business days they will turn me over to collections. What can I do to protect myself?

I started the car this morning and one rear wheel wouldn't turn, it was like trying to drive but with the handbrake on. I hadnt driven the car for a week. It did free itself and drives normally now however there is a rotational thumping noise from the back wheels. I checked the tyre to see if it being dragged had flattened it off but it doesn't appear so. Does anyone know why this happened, how i can prevent it and what is the likely cause of the 'thumping'. I would appreciate your thoughts.

Yesterday on 7-19-07 a man somehow he let hes pitbull loose and attack my dog almost in the entrance of the Dog Shelter in Baldwin Park, leaving my dog with a big wound in her head. During the attack they where two animal control officers as witnesses. and a big chance of camera surveillance as well.I was able to get the pitbull owner information. Now my pet is at a vet animal hospital. The full medical expenses for my dog will be a total of $843.00, and so far I have only pay $185.00 just for my dog get treatment in her 2 inch round wound showing her skull. My dog needs urgent surgery to cover the wound, and this cant be done until I pay at least half, and I dont have the money to pay half. I contacted the owner of the pitbull, and he denied to pay the full total cost of my dog medical expenses. He said, hes only willing to pay half and nothing else. Then, I attempted to make a deal with him by paying me half, and I will give him month to pay me the other half, and he said no, only half, and I want him to pay the full total amount for hes irresponsibility. By the way my dog has license and all her vaccine shots, and was leash during the attack. I really dont know what do. What legal actions can I take? Is there any way the city could pay the dog emergency surgery needed to save my pet life, and then the city charge the owner of the pitbull, since I got all hes information (phone,address,licence).
