It's to die for!

There is a homeless man that is always standing on the side of the road and I go almost everyday and ask him if he's eaten and if he hasn't I go to one of the fast food restaurants nearby and get him a meal or give him a few dollars. I know that in a way that is helping him, but I want to help him in a "bigger" way. I feel really bad for him because I have seen him standing there in the pouring rain. I'm scared to let him in my car because I don't know him so I can't take him anywhere, but I really want to help him... What can I do?

Currently I have $51K in my Lincoln financial 403B. I contribute 9% of my income. My last child just moved out, and Im amazed at how cheap I can live without the kids here. I am divorced since 1989, and could not really afford to contribute more money into my 403B until now. I am 42 yrs old and would like to retire when I am about 63 if possible. Depends on how well I hold up. I have some I bonds and about $14K in another retirement account. I would like to start contributing 20% to my 403B in 3 yrs. Do you think this is a good start? I am in high risk investments. How is this looking right now? Any thing you could tell me about my investments and future will be helpful. I own my own home free and clear and expect to make a lot more money in the next 5 yrs. Currently I make about $70K a year.

I thought about this question recently. Please state if you are a Christian or not.

I mean... Atheists are always preaching "science" and "logic" to christians.
Well how about this atheists.... The Bible was there first! The Bible was written thousands of years before your puny science books, AND it was written by God.

The Holy men that were the vessels God's word in writing the Bible were simple superstitious people, who would have believed anything they were told, and yet, because GOd told them what to write, they were able to explain how we got here. No "evolution".

You atheists talk about Charles Darwin! But he wasn't inspired by God!!! He merely used science, logic and common sense to discover his so called "evolution". But the Bible was written thousands of years ago before any modern science was invented, when people were scared and superstitious and would have believed anything they were told. Yet the Bible explains the origin of man millenia before Darwin! Ha!

If you actually read the Bible, you might understand that logic has no place in religion.

Every dream that's ever touched me
Every breath I've ever made
Every song that lives inside me
Every ounce of love ever gave

Only one heart cools this fire
Only one heart dries my tears
Only one heart beats with mine
And takes away my fears

And I realize, and I hold on
The only heart to get me through
My everything, my world, my love
My heart is completely with you

This question is coming from a mystical Christian... why all the cautioning against finding the "inner castle" as St. Therese of Avila has called it, the same experience of all great Catholic saints, such as St. Thomas Aquinas, St. John of the Cross, St. Francis of Assisi? The Kingdom of God that Jesus said to seek within, the esoteric foundation of all great world religions. God truly is within you and in all of us, but fundamental Christianity takes the keys of this love and union of God away from the masses, much as the Pharisee scribes and priests did in the time of Jesus Himself. This is the mystic marriage of us with God through Jesus Christ and our spirit within.

I've sought and found within, and have never been happier, more at home, or known such love from God than when I united with His Spirit through Jesus Christ, it was the most life changing experience I've ever had, and now my own spirit is truly married to that of God through Jesus Christ after intimate union.

It's the "inner castle" and the "Kingdom Within" through the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ that brings true spiritual enlightenment and the end of suffering on earth. I suffer no more and I fear death no more, in fact I look forward to it when God deems the time right since that's when I will return to Him whence I came, since as His children, we were with Him before we were born on earth. I can't wait to be united with Him again, forever, which is why I don't fear death in the least, and look at it as the beginning of my true life with Jesus Christ and God, although I have a personal relationship with Him on earth, it cannot be anything compared to truly beholding Him in the beatific vision after our time here is done.

His wife passed away 2 months ago. He is only 34 years old, has been with her for 10 years. He's tried counseling and grief groups, but found them unhelpful. All of his other friends are avoiding him now. I talk to him daily, but I don't know how to help him. We live in different states, and I feel like he's been abandoned by everyone (even his cat died about 2 weeks ago). I don't know what to say or do to help him see that life is still worth living. He has so much sadness in him, not just the loss of his wife, but the loss of the future he had planned, the memories of the past they shared, the idea that he will spend the rest of his life alone. He has a 19 year old step-son that spends most of his time with his girlfriend. They don't seem to be sharing their grief together.
Can anyone tell me what I can do to help ease his suffering and reasons for him not to kill himself. I just don't know what to tell him anymore.

My mother has written a lovely children's book. I didn't realize just how talented she is. Does anyone know who we should show her work to? The contact information for someone who could help her get published would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I love salsa, tango, and belly dancing. I like middle eastern inspired music; it's so beautiful and entralling, almost hypnotizes.
