Reader Advocate: Dr. Laura fans take issue with story on SLC eventThe soldier son of talk radio relationship counselor Laura Schlessinger is under investigation for a graphic personal Web page that one Army official has called "repulsive."
The MySpace page, publicly available until Friday when it disappeared from the Internet, included cartoon depictions of rape, murder, torture and child molestation; photographs of soldiers with guns in their mouths; a photograph of a bound and blindfolded detainee captioned "My Sweet Little Habib"; accounts of illicit drug use; and a blog entry headlined by a series of obscenities and racial epithets.
The site is credited to and includes many photographs of Deryk Schlessinger, the 21-year-old son of the talk radio personality known simply as Dr. Laura. Broadcast locally on 570 KNRS, "Family Values Talk Radio," the former family counselor spends three hours daily taking calls and offering advice on morals, ethics and values. She broadcast a show from Fort Douglas, in Salt Lake City, last week.
Military leaders have long grappled with how to balance positive publicity and operational security with technological opportunities for troops to tell their personal stories.

I am new to the rental property business and have decided to sign with a property management copy for rental and oversing my property. The property I have planned on renting is a 1900 sq ft house / 3 bedroom. I was recently notified from my rental property manager that 3 military men are interested in renting my place. I have no problem renting to these gentlemen (I too am in the military) but prior to their lease signing, I would like to understand if it is proper to increase the monthly rent. Is that considered discrimination? I am a little concerned about the wear and tear from three young men compared to a family.

I remember asking why the Bible, a book which had to know better since it was written by God himself, said Joshua raised his hands and the "sun stopped for the space of about a day," when clearly it would be the earth that stopped rotating? I asked him how oceans would not slop out of their basins in such a scenario and drown the whole world? I asked him if humans would not be cast into space by such a sudden stop of the entire planet? I even asked if this really happened, why did no one else on the whole planet notice it, or write about it? I got that dumb look again.

I even asked him what would happen to my handicapped brother, who could neither hear, speak or see and thus had no way to become a Jesus accepting Christian. He told me he was saved automatically. Wow! How cool. I, on the other hand, would have to risk getting my beliefs correct or go to hell. Bummer. more at link

Are weapons and the private defense industry similar to critical utilities such as power companies where their profits are regulated? The primary and perhaps only consumers are the US government and perhaps other governments. ---What role should government have in subsidizing research for these businesses?

Okay, so my sister is my best friend ever, and I have never lied to her. Her boyfriend told me he is going to propose soon and showed me the ring. I obviously haven't told my sister, but I had a message on my cell phone saying she found a receipt for a ring sizing from Kay Jeweler's and wanted to know what I thought it was for. I don't know if I should ignore the phone the call, call her back and say I don't have any idea, or call her back and hint that her boyfriend may have gotten her a ring for her graduation (so she won't be suspicious and his proposal will be a real surprise). Is it okay to lie in this situation, and what would be the best option? I don't want to ruin the surprise...but I also want to know if it's okay for me to tell a white lie to my best friend. Thanks.

In downtown, or some very busy commercial part of city, some streets are forbided any vehicle, like car, bike. Only way to get through is walking.

How do you say it in a word, or short phrase in English?

Thanks.

I was looking through my Remington catalog and noticed something that worried me a bit. I noticed I was firing rounds out of my rifle that are not listed under centerfire rifles. I was shooting model L44MG7 44 Magnum bullets from my rifle. And in my catalog these bullets are only listed under Handgun centerfire. In the Rifle centerfire section it lists the R44MG2 and R44MG3 bullets for use in a rifle but does not list the L44MG7 rounds I was using. The two rounds listed in the rifle section (R44MG2 and R44MG3) also appeared in the Handgun section. So I can see those are interchangeable, but the other round listed in handgun centerfire, the L44MG7, does not appear under rifle centerfire. So I am worried I used a bullet I was not sopposed to. Does anyone know why it is not listed for the rifle? And why only under handgun? Did I mess up by shooting those rounds from a rifle? Just wondering why the bullets I shot are only listed as hangun ammo and not rifle ammo. Thanks!!
