People here continuously point to the founding fathers and imagine what they would think of today's government. The fact is, they would likely find it quite tame.
Within months of taking control, Washington's cabinet suffered a political split and became ineffective. The Hamilton Federalist were at odds with the Jefferson Republicans. After only months in office as the nation's first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton was exposed in a scandal involving spending federal money on prostitutes.
The rift between Jefferson and Hamilton became so heated that George Washington in his private writings gave little hope for the success of the new nation.
The mudslinging between the Jeffersonian Republicans and the Federalist escalated when John Adams became president. Adams, a conservative by today's measure, detested Hamilton, a liberal of his day.
Hamilton was feared as a strong contender for the presidency. This fear was ended in a baited duel with Aaron Burr, a conservative.

I have been trying for years to win various radio station contests...be the 10th caller and say the phrase that pays and you will win $5,000..be the 103rd caller when you hear the sounder and win a trip to the VIrgin Islands and so on and so on.

I have tried again and again to win by having the numbers on speed dial, or calling over and over but the line is always busy or I just never get a live voice.

My question to people that have won radio station contests...Is there a secret to getting through the line? What did you do to get through? Or is it all a hoax just to get you to listen to their station? Or have they already pre-selected the winner? I would like to get to the bottom of this becasue I am a frustrated listener...LOL

If you are a radio DJ, yourself tell me what the real deal is please!

in most sexual species, the males and females have different strategies. females brains make them want children more than a male(pregnancy in mammals or the production of the egg in birds and reptiles). "and this difference in initial investment creates differences in variance in expected reproductive success and bootstraps the sexual selection processes".unlike a female, a male (except in monogamous species) is not sure if he is the true parent of his offspring are theirs or not. and will be less interested in spending time and energy into something that might not be related to him. "As a result of these factors, males are typically more willing to mate than females" in humans, the part of the brain dedicated to sex is larger in males than that of females, so obviously females are not required to want to mate as much as males.the natural idea of women is that they are the ones who are at fault, the human race already blames the females for everything, even in religion.

I have really good credit. My fiance made some really bad decisions in the past and has terrible credit. (credit cards, overdrawn bank account car loan .....) We are buying a home . We are planning on getting married next year. I am wondering would it be better for him to consolidate his bills and us try to pay them off or should he just file banktruptcy? We plan on doing something before we get married. We dont have any savings and I have a child and he has three from a previous marriage that he pays support for. My concern about debtconsolidation is that we wont be able to make the payments with everything else we are having to take care of. How bad is a debt consolidation or bankruptcy going to look when we do tie the knot if I have really good credit. Also what kind of affect does that have if any on employment?

Derick Colman was selected number 1, 2 or 3 in the NBA draft. He was the most talented player in the draft. He relied on his genetics to play in the NBA and was usually overweight. He never practiced and most NBA players can only dream of having his talent. He was a nomadic NBA player for his whole career because he never came close to his potential. Could Lebron James be like Derick Colman?

Do you do these good things only because your religion tells you to do them? Or, do you think you would do them, anyway, even if you had no religion in your life?

Why or why not?

For Epicurus, the purpose of philosophy was to attain the happy, tranquil life, characterized by the absence of pain and fear, and by living a self-sufficient life surrounded by friends. He taught that pleasure and pain are the measures of what is good and bad, that death is the end of the body and the soul and not to be feared, that the gods do not reward or punish humans, that the universe is infinite and eternal, and that events in the world are ultimately based on the motions and interactions of atoms moving in empty space.

Epicurus was often vilified as favoring the uninhibited pursuit of pleasure (hedonism), however he invariably counseled restraint and temperance with respect to physical desires.

Why should I fear death?
If I am, death is not.
If death is, I am not.
Why should I fear that which
cannot exist when I do?
