I am building a house in the tropics and can't get reliable specs for the varying concrete mixtures I will need. Every contractor has a different story. I believe the concrete will be stronger if mixed with sharp gravel aggregate. What is the best mix for: Foundations, large blocks (approx 49cm x 29cm x15cm), mortar, floor fill, steps. The house will be one story but needs to be strong enough in case we decide later to add a story.
Also does anyone know how many blocks of above dimensions i can expect to get out of a 50kg bag of cement (specify mixture)?

I've asked a few questions here, and the answers have been great, but perhaps I should read some actual railroad site message boards. Is there one "prime" site that all the railfans go to share their info and ask questions? Thanks

The reason being is that scientifically, the theory of evolution is not consistant with the basis of existence. (If life, being conscienciousness) started spontaneously, and we humans evolved from such, to be the rulers of the planet, for the purpose of prepetuating "life", why do most of us do the opposite of our "nature" then? If, we evolved from a spontaneous reaction breeding conscienciousness, most humans have tendancies to delve towards unconsciousness. Therefore saying that it is a physical law that all things which exist have tendancies to behave like thier origin, if we originated from natural selection, and basically sponteneity, why are we driven toward self annahilation? Furthermore if evolution where true, why do we seem to be de-evolving? Most people first of all arent very smart, and havent learned the basic fundamentals of co-existing in a physical world? Explain that. And dont be complicated, go to the point.

Britain’s crisis with Iran deepened last night after Tehran justified seizing 15 British servicemen by claiming that they had strayed into Iranian territorial waters “illegally”.

The announcement appeared to rule out any hope that the incident was a simple mistake that could be quickly rectified.

Instead, there were growing fears that the 15 British sailors and Royal Marines were victims of a deliberate ambush on the disputed Shatt al-Arab waterway by Iranian Revolutionary Guards, perhaps seeking to use the captives as hostages in the increasingly tense stand-off between the West and Iran over its nuclear programme.

I have just read complete and uncut version of 'the stand' and found the ending a little disappointing. It feels like you go on a journey and then... It's over. I thought the end was over too quick and i felt a little cheated. Has anyone read it and felt the same way? I loved the book and couldn't put it down so this was a litte putting off.
