Does anyone actually use the glove compartment for gloves?

Ofcourse! I also have socks in my socks compartment and undies in my underwear compartment!

No they won't fit. My gloves tend to end up in the door pocket.
The glove compartment is like a travelling first aid kit plus other "useful" stuff.

gloves went out with the invention of heaters (and maybe even the roof) in cars, so glove compartment is now an archaic term.

no but i do have a lot of other junk in my glove compartment. i think the car manufactures ought to rename it the junk compartment

Never, I have so much in there that I couldn't even find gloves if I had needed them. =)

No I don't have gloves there I know I have skeletor (my son's) in there and some other crap.

Yes....purple rubber gloves...I am a home health Aid.
I also have candy...gum...Cd's....money....road maps.
pen and paper. extra sunglasses.
