i am pretty sure i was told to wait six weeks after having my son due to the possibility of causing an infection in the raw uterine lineing inside. for more info look up postpartum intercourse online.

Depending on your doctor it is recommended to wait 4-8 weeks. Mostly to give your body a break and heal but also to avoid another pregnancy so close. Lord knows I didn't wait and was back at it at 2 weeks. Just use some extra birth control!

I asked that question too after I had my children. The doctor said that he advises you wait until 6 week check up but most people cant wait that long. I believe that its up to you and how your body feels. For me it was painful so I waited until I felt ready. No body else knows your body like you do so if you feel ok then all means--but still consult with your doctor when you do next week.

No, not unless you were specifically told not to because of severe tearing etc. If you feel comfortable and ready to start having intercourse again then go ahead but if you don't feel happy about it then don't do it. Also, don't forget to use contraception, you're very fertile at the moment after just having a baby.

Most doctors suggest waiting 6 weeks AND after your check up to make sure you are healed from delivery. If you and hubby are feeling up to it you could try it out. Go slow, and use lots of lubrication. The key is to go SLOW and get your body used to it.

The doctors say wait 6 weeks, but I've heard of plenty of women who did it before 6 weeks. Just be really careful if you don't want to get pregnant....you can be super fertile after you have a baby.

I was told to wait six weeks. If you had an episiotomy or any tearing, you have to wait for it to heal before you start having sex. If you feel ok., you could try it. Just don't expect too much. Your body is still shrinking back to it's original shape, and things are still healing.

It is best to wait until the checkup. When I went for mine with my last daughter, the doctor found 3 places that he had to treat with silver nitrate to heal them. If I had had intercourse, it would have caused an infection. Getting pregnant again is another reason.
