Favre to Chicago for Urlacher, Griese and the Bear's first round draft pick
Green Bay needs to cash in their chips on Favre now and begin to enter the Aaron Rogers era, if they ride Favre to the ground they'll be left with nothing at all for him next year. Getting Griese would let them keep a veteran around to tutor him, and of course Urlacher is a force across the whole middle of the field.
Chicago needs a reliable, experienced, gunslinging QB worse than anything, and they wont be able to address that need in the draft - if they want to make it back to the SB next year they need to retool and do it now. Their defense system is great, and they'll be a force even without Urlacher - and it will be much easier to replace him right away with the top second-round pick than it would to draft a playtime-ready QB.
Seems both teams have what the other needs to get to the next level.
