Those guys are idiots...when my girl cries, I am right there to console her. They must be afraid of their emotional side.

Most men are not connected to their emotional being. There are not to many men that will cry, at least not for you to see. Most of the time when they see a woman crying, they know something is wrong, sometimes they may feel they won't have the answer, or they were taught as a child that crying is a sign of weakness as woman were taught it was normal. There are some men that will comfort their woman when they are upset, and then you have the one's that are not touched by the fact that you are crying. Most of the time they think it's because they did something and their afraid to confront it. Men like to live as simple a life as possible, to get them to feel what we feel most of the time is like beating on a brick wall. Like I told someone else most men need to be food fed emotions, step by step, they wait until you say something about why you were crying instead of just asking you what's wrong. And like you said comforting you, even if they can't solve the promblem they don't realize that holding you helps alot. Most men believe that women's hormones are the cause of everything. The next time you have a good cry about something, ask your partner, don't you want to know why I'm upset. And see what type of reponse you get, if he says oh I didn't know you was upset, then he's the type of man that needs to be spoon fed your emotions. And if you don't get a reponse or a negative one then you need to except your emotionless man, or move on to one who cares.

Guys are pretty dense. I mean it's not that they don't want to comfort, it's that they don't know how to comfort.
Guys are very methodical, if you're a woman and crying we never know what the reason is or what we can do to fix things. We can to make things right and do right by you as a woman but sometimes it's so hard to know what is right when we don't cry and when men do cry we know why and have reasons. It's mechanics. I'm not making excuses, just trying to ramble out an explanation of some manner.

Because you know that we have problems with emotion, and we are not on the same emotional level as you are. We want to comfort you, but most guys have had bad experiences trying to help, and we don't want to say or do the wrong thing. It is a bad vibe situation for a guy. We feel that you will get the wrong idea by our actions, and that can be a good or bad thing, but usually bad. Just know that most of us mean well regardless!

They just don't understand it, they aren't used to that. First off, if they're a fairly nice guy, they're probably afraid it's their fault. Second, when a girl gets emotional like that, you never know when she might start blaming the guy, or get violent. That one mainly stems from what they've witnessed older sisters, and their moms do when they're emotional. If you're gonna cry in front of a guy, which I've done TONS of times xD i'm a crybaby, try not to surprise him with it. If you're havin a rough day, or feel like you might cry, maybe try to hint that you're upset first, so they can be prepped. Or start out crying softly, it's less scary if you aren't blubbering like a baby calf * xD i had to learn that one the HARD way.....well, actually it was more like blubbering like a turkey, but you get the drift.
As for the jerks..they're jerks. What can I say?
We're girls, we confuse them, they confuse us, and yet somehow we end up populating the earth together o.O; ftw?

Maybe they don't know what to say. When a friend cries sometimes even their best friends dont say or do much because they dont know how to comfort you, they just pat you on the back and say "Its ok"...but men run..thats all they CAN do,they run away from problems, not face them head on...they could feel its their fault your crying and that them being there could only make it worse.

It's not true that we're completely emotionally retarted. I don't know how to explain it. That's one question i can't crack. Ok, there was this popular girl crying, and I'm not the most popular guy, nobody was next to her. I went up and asked what was wrong, as understanding as i can be, and she said, "Get the hell away from me you freak'n nerd." I was like, what the hell?? Maybe that happened to other guys and their afraid it might happen again.
