I'm 41, and my wife plan on moving out of state for the change of scenery, more reasonable housing costs, and new career opportunities. I have been living basically in the same general area of southern California since birth, and I'm ready for something new! But, there is a part of me that feels guilty about moving away from my parents. The are in their mid-70s, but in good health. I feel like I should have moved away a long time ago, and now the window of opportunity is closing because they are getting older. Any advice?

If a train left Boston travelling 50 mph, and Johnny had 22 apples in his sack, how many geese would be able to fit into the phone booth before you went out to get the mail during a rerun of "Thats My Mama"?

It's curious how perfectly God created us.In his creation he included desire for the oppposite sex (or same sex if you want to be politically correct). Before you argue that Eve was responsible for creating desire, our bodies physiologically respond with pleasure to sexual stimuli. Therefore, isn't it safe to say that God intended for us to enjoy sexual intercourse?
Over the past several decades, the average age of the onset of puberty (therefore increased desire) has decreased to as young as 10 years old, while the average age of marriage has increased to nearly 26 years old. That can mean resisting a completely natural sexual desire for 16 YEARS!! Whereas, our grandparents were getting married at practically the same time that puberty hit.
So, would it be safe to say that it is no longer realistic to expect adolescents to wait 16 years, or would it be safer to give them the education they will need to make responsible choices about their sexual health?

I found this quote from someone to be interesting:

"Several Flood legends from various cultures of antiquity around the world corroborate the story of Noah's Flood."

This person claims that the Great Flood is true becaue other cultures have stories that support Noah and his family escaping destruction.

First off, what stories are these? There may be stories about a flood (especially in Sumerian myth), but that's different from supporting Noah's story.

Secondly, how could other cultures support Noah's story when they are wiped out by the flood?

It sounds like someone was grasping at straws to convince people that Noah's Ark is a true story. Regardless, I'm interested in the viewpoints of others and--dare I ask--some source material to examine.

Its her marriage
and the problem is her husband. He Is a very clean person and she is not. They often get into fights about this.I believe a big part of her problem is due to the fact that she is depressed. But she tells me when he comes home he wants the house clean. and if its not, hes really mean to her. she told me that he will call her dumb a ss and lazy a ss and worthless piece of sht and stupid mthrfcker. and a few other choice words. She knows she is messy and she knows that its really not fair to him. cuz i asked her that. she says he thinks the only way he can get her to clean is if he is an a sshole to her. she said when he is really p issed at her he will hide things from her and throw her things away. he has broken all the dinning room chairs during fits of rage. I asked her has he ever hit you and she said no. theyve been together 20 years and its always been like this. DOes her husband have a right to treat her this way because she is messy? he told her he wanted a divorc
