Those snakes...always full of sound medical advise. After all, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. The last talking snake I saw told me to floss after every meal.

It's not a question of faith, there is nothing wrong with what Snake told you. I f you like some apples, why not buy some and eat them? You were told to buy, so long as you pay for them and don't steal them, I don't see anything wrong about it.
