Five penguins have been killed in a shocking attack near a Melbourne beach.

Researchers at the St Kilda bird colony say it's the most sickening attack they have seen.

The killers climbed security gates at the St Kilda breakwater on Wednesday night, newspapers reported.

The dead birds suffered multiple stab wounds or had their necks wrung.

Monash University PhD student and colony researcher Tiana Preston, 26, discovered the dead birds on Thursday morning.

"When I first got there I saw some blood spattered around," Ms Preston said.

"It was quite disgusting. No-one who is normal could do this - they are such beautiful, amazing creatures."

A small knife was found with blood stains and feathers stuck on it.

Earthcare St Kilda penguin research group coordinator Zoe Hogg said it was the second attack on the penguins in a year.

My daughter has a dog that has got hold of her passport & put loads of teeth marks on it and also nibbled the the bottom right hand corner, yet everything is still visable: Is it still legal, & will she still be allowed through passort control, taking it that she travels through the most stringent control centre with the biggest job's-woth people imaginable?

Parliament have passed a Bill of reservation for OBC (INCLUDING CREAMY LAYER) which is against merit/means.

It appears that the bill has been passed under the pressure of OBC MP's which are from CREAMY LAYERS & ARE IN MAJORITY IN BOTH HOUSES.

This bill is against ethics.

Should President prefer to dissolve LOK SABHA in place of signing the BILL?

I am a final year computer Science Engineering student. I am generally good in programming (can use many languages and learn new ones quite instinctively). My area of interest is primarily developing useful applications and system programming but i will not mind ideas from other spheres as long as it include a considerable scope of programming. If the idea is a current hot topic than it will be appreciated. I hope you understand that i want to develop something useful.
I do have some ideas but they are not up to my own expectations. Please help me out.
Thanks.

I'd consider myself an Independant. It's obvious both parties have "issues" and frankly I'm not a big "fan" of politics to begin with. But I realize a responsible adult should pay attention to certain issues and should participate (vote) accordingly, else (as some like to say) have no reason to complain. I know this will be a controversial statement and will be met with a lot of smart comments, but I think people are extremely small-minded who allow themselves to follow one political party on all issues, no matter what. Who says Republicans are conservatives and Democrats are liberals? The media? Who or what came up with this "side definition", and why must it be defined that way? I'm "liberal" on some issues and "conservative" on others. But I hear a lot of people (usually always Republicans) say "No. You have to draw the line. You're either this or that. Black or white. If you can't decide there's no room for you here." Does your political affiliation affect your life that much?????
