Catholics celebrate Christmas the same as the rest of the world

December 25th as other Roman Catholics do. Maybe you're confusing it with some of the Eastern Orthodox churches who celebrate Christmas on January 7th?
I lived there for four years. many celebrations were similar. It did seem to me that church attendance was less than in the US for Christmas. But, church attendance in general did seem low there compared to the US.
Large family dinners were the standard, much like the US. Presents were far fewer, and you saw less of Santa Claus (Babbo Natale) than you would in th US, but he was still popular.
Kids tended to get more presents from La Befana on Epiphany in January.
