I do not think it is, but I hear my English teacher say it a lot. I did not think it was proper English, and that it ain't actually a real word, but I could be wrong about this.

I have often wondered how subduction zones form. How does the transition from a quiet ocean floor to an active vulcanic arc (ocean-ocean subduction) occur? Or the transition from a passive continental margin to Andean type subduction zone (ocean-continent subduction). In either case one plate needs to divide into two plates and some kind of decoupling is required. How does this happen? What is the driving mechanism? And can this transitional proces be observed at present?

I have a Gateway 450XL laptop. This is relatively new. Recently It's been BEEPING at random times. It has this one long beep and it disappears, it does it at random times. Nothing happens after it beeps, im wondering if the computer is telling me something is wrong. I have reformated and installed Windows XP pro on this computer three times now, and I still cant get rid of the beep. The tech people already came, and replaced the motherboard, CPU and fan, the BEEP is still there!!! It's the motherboard thats beeping.

A helicopter was flying around above Seattle yesterday when an electrical
malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and
communications equipment.
Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter's
position and course to steer to the airport.
The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, drew a handwritten
sign, and held it in the helicopter's window. The pilot's sign said "WHERE AM
I?" in large letters.
People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large
sign, and held it in a building window. Their sign said "YOU ARE IN A
HELICOPTER."
The pilot smiled, waved, looked at his map, determined the course to steer
to SEATAC airport, and landed safely.
After they were on the ground, the co-pilot asked the pilot how the "YOU ARE
IN A HELICOPTER" sign helped determine their position in Seatle.
The pilot responded "I knew that had to be the MICROSOFT building because,
similar to their help-lines, they gave me a technically correct but completely
useless answer."
