I want to try my best to build a relationship with this girl by visiting her etc. etc. hanging out with her at lunch and all that. I'm planning on spending a good 2 months on trying to make her a best friend and then finally asking her out on a date so it feels more comfortable. Is this a better method than doing it on the spot?

The only thing that concerns me is if someone else asked her out within that time frame. She is only a sophomore right now and school started August. She doesn't know too many guys so that's kinda relieiving to me honestly. But I don't know what to do.

The reason why I want to wait until she knows me a little better is because she herself is shy. That's the reason she doesn't know many guys.

I;m not really trying to become her "Best Friend" just trying to become a casual "talk-to" friend that way I can ask her out a bit easier too,

I am a tomboy kind of girl and my friend is this "by the book" kinda girl and we are TOTALLY different! its bad tho cuz we ALWAYS get into fights and its so stupid her family is SO Different they have 4 kids they home school all of them the go 2 church 2 x a week somethimes more, and they cant hav any food like candy,weat,and dairy and there not even allergic 2 them!
