I worked really hard at it, and got it.
BUT...here's the key -
I decided that I'd like a career that would give me the opportunity to do things I loved doing so work would never be a drag. I never wanted a nine to five job, I never wanted to work for anyone else, and I wanted the freedom to be able to do other things while I'm doing what makes me money.
What do I do?
I own a salon. It makes me money. I also have a clothing boutique. It also makes me money. But I draw, I paint, I do stained glass, create beautiful mosaics, and make great jewelry. THAT'S what I love to do.
I like the salon, I like the boutique. And owning
them allows me to do what I love.
Find a way to do what you love to do.

A lot a pre-adult teens have your problem. I told my children to consider what they wanted out of life and then set their goals to achieve it. I know financial independence is VERY important so getting a job should be your number one priority. The key is if you can't get the job that you want right away then get which job that you can until you can do what you want. Money is money and no matter what work you do to get it it spends the same. If you want to continue school at a community college or regular one you will remain dependent on your parents unless you work nights which will be very demanding. I just wanted to give you some direction to help in your decision making. Also, if you would, consider joining the military. I suggest the Air Force because of it's technical training and it doesn't really get involved in the wars.

First you have to understand the world we live in. Start doing research on different types of careers and jobs. We all have to earn a living so you may as well do something you like. There were people that lived 100 years ago that were similar to you, but what they did with their lives was sort of defined by what there is to do, and what was available. Once you know this, get alone, go out to the park and try not to talk to anyone for a couple hours. Close your eyes and think about what you like the most. If you can't visualize yourself as a professor wearing a lab coat and glasses, you probably shouldn't do it.

we all go though this, it is hell to have to be confronted with this crap usually they lay it on and a one shot dump or they fit it in to a strategy that still leave you trying to answer the question. either way there is an answer the answer is give no answer til you have the knowledge to see the depth's of all humanity and see what worked and what didn't the nursing home are full of people who can tell you everything that the facts are made of but the teacher usually have never set foot out side and don't eat crow like the rest of us, there are many ways to choose something that is not judgmental in application (selective rejectional)and is not violent in nature, and is not lowest paying job that gets out of the most work, the variables to the fact that there are many great jobs=yours is to ber better than you are, and choose well!= truth many people hold jobs that are bad for everyone who has to deal with them, they best know how to get the job, that's great= but their the worst people in the world to do the job, see!, they just want it, but they are not good at it and everybody know it, so where do you tell apples from oranges, that may be the road to pursue, a mentor who is grounded dedicated and all that he says can be read backwards and forwards and it comes out the same is the truth and the truth will set your way

You need to be true to yourself as per what can make your inner self go "HURRAY" and find out a way to really accomplish it in real life. This may sound difficult. But I think this is the only way to be happy and successful.
Thinking too much about fast-moving time is waste of time. And we feel that the time is moving fast just because of our fast food culture, 7-minutes quickies and constantly changing technology and TV entertainment. Life has a natural rhythm, and no tree grows overnight.
Take some time off and let your mind speak to you, rather then prodding your mind to the extent of damaging it.
Read "Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand. It helped me. It may help you.

Life is a game .It consists of freedoms, barriers and purposes.
You simply need to recall a strong purpose you have had. You may have to look back to when you were very young. Then look at what barriers you decided were too great to achieve it. You may have abandoned it because it was invalidated by someone... There could be many reasons.
It takes courage to be true to your OWN goals and purposes, but you DO have them.
If you don't stick to them, life becomes a game of following OTHER peoples goals or purposes, and when you do that, you of course never arrive anywhere that YOU really want to be.
Time , by the way, has nothing to do with it.
What are you trying to "catch up" to?

I'm still trying to find out what I want to do with my life. I'm 27 have a degree in Political Science and have done a variety of different jobs since graduating from college years ago. I haven't found my nitch. I do know I'm getting close to it and I'm taking the steps to get there. Some people know exactly what they want to do until retirement. Other people have to fish around to or dibble and dabble in a wide range of things to find out what makes them happy enough to do it everyday until they can't do it anymore. Your never too young or old not to know where life is directing you. All you can do is narrow down the choices by drive, desire and passion. Know your limitations and what you will have to encounter to accomplish your goal of finding a life profession. Hey you might just be one of the people out here who can reach for more then just one star. Don't stress yourself over it. You will know it when it happens.

What are the things that you love to do? What are the things that you have a really strong passion for? Don't choose what you do based on how much money you can make. Do what you love to do and the money will come to you.

Basically, you go with the flow ^_^. Let things come at you and then decide. At least, that's how I chose.
