For four, nearly five, years my wife and I were told by our bank that they would help us when we decided that the time was right to consolidate all our finances. They were aware of our circumstances, which most people would class as very lucky, but at the last minute they decided against it and made demand for repayment of overdrafts, loans etc which, of course, they had been delighted to throw at us up to that point. They even gave us an extra £1000 on our overdraft when I told them I had lost my job - 'just to get you through christmas'. Subsequently our credit rating, which was perfectly healthy up to then, is now shocking. We need to raise £100,000 for a short 6 to 9 month period. This would be fully secured and even repayment can be guaranteed. Has anyone got any sensible ideas?

A woman gets on a city bus. She looks at the driver and holds up one hand.The driver holds up two hands . Next, the woman points up , the driver points down. Then, the woman grabs her breast, the driver grabs his cr-otch. Finally, the woman grabs her butt and gets off the bus.
A curious passenger asked the bus driver what the odd motions were all about.
The driver explained, "The woman is a deaf-mute. She asked me if a bus ride is five cents, and I told her it was ten cents. Next, she asked if the bus was going uptown, and I told her it was going downtown. Then, she asked if the bus was going past the dairy, and I told her it was going past the ballpark......"
The passenger interjected,
"Okay, but why did she grab her butt as she left the bus?" The driver continued, "She replied, Oh $hit, I'm on the wrong bus!"

i am terrible with money. first of all i was not taught i raised myself and my siblings on what i made. working since the age of 14 and giving my money to my mother and my brothers for bills. buying gifts for people. just not budgeting living from paycheck to paycheck. recently i got an apartment after 5yrs of not having one and letting people sponge off me. so i jumped at the chance to get my life together. i both scared of failing and not making it this time. i come from the most disfuncutional family i think on the planet. what can you do for me? when i need help it is what did you do with your money. i don't have any children i have a good job. 36yrs of age and i have nothing but sore back and financial mess trying to please everyone but myself? how do i start when i have never done anything but serve?

I have Sky TV, I pay for Sky TV and I only watch Sky TV. Could somebody please therefore tell me how it can be possibly be justified and fair that I pay the BBC about £120 per year as a licence fee?

Why can we not have a system where you can 'opt out' and not receive any BBC channels, better still why can't we just scrap the licence altogether?
