Beliefs cannot be described in terms of smart and stupid. Spirituality is personal. However, ignorant is a different ball field. Those who worship and follow the rites and rituals of any religion without understanding why, and then condemn others for their beliefs, are ignorant. Anyone who's studied more than one religion can attest that most have the same fundamental concepts.

No. God is a single being. Jesus was the son of God and Christians, therefore, believe they are one and the same. But still others believe in God and that there is only one God. In my mind a believer is a believer. And although I believe that Jesus was send to earth by God, and I believe that he was send to be a sign from God, it doesn't bother me much if others don't. Jews believe in God but don't believe that Jesus existed, but that he is coming. So what's the big deal? It is all the same really.

That statement alone is stupid. How can believing in GOD be smart and believing in Jesus be stupid? For one thing, Jesus is the direct son of GOD. Therefore, if you call him stupid, you are calling GOD stupid. How could you believe in GOD and not Jesus? Doesn't make sense. People who believe in GOD read the bible. Jesus is in the bible. He does exist and he is the son of GOD. Good luck trying to prove otherwise.

No belief is stupid. There are those who believe that Jesus the Christ was a God. Personally, I believe a man known as Jesus the Christ did exist. However, I believe that everybody is the child of God just as this man was. I also believe that it is far more important to follow Jesus the Christ's teachings, than it is to believe or disbelieve that he was God.

Xians should really check their arrogance at the door and realize that our founding fathers thought this exact same way. It is called deism, a belief in god but no belief that Jesus is his son or part of the trinity. If you think that this belief is is stupid then I think Thomas Jefferson would love to have a talk with you.

My personal opinion is that belief in any god is ignorant so it is strange to me that one group of ignorant people (xians) are criticizing another group of ignorant people (deists).

That statement is stupid, because Jesus and God who is Jesus father are one.

John 8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

They are 2 parts of the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

God and Jesus are one, so you can't believe in one and not the other if you are a Christian.

If believing in anything makes you a better human being then it is good to believe in it. The end result (spiritual enlightenment) is important-the means of achieving it is of no importance.
