I guess you mean as a monthly cost right?
Cheapest monthly rooms are probably going to be Goshiwon, which are basically a bed and a small fridge, TV, shared bathroom and shared laundry. More often than not they will have free rice and kimchi, and sometimes other stuff.
You dont need to pay for extra costs such as power or gas etc etc. Some places have Internet too, and then there are rooms with Laptop access.
So yeah, I think they would be your cheapest monthly costs.
They are super quiet, because mostly students studying for exams stay in them.
You can get these in the city, and out of the city.
Another option could be a guest house, I dont know how much they charge, but they feed you and all that jazz.
There are some guesthouses in Seoul that have free accomodation for 3 months in return for teaching English a few nights a week. Cant remember any names though, im afraid.
As a last option, you could possibly find some family that want you to teach their kids English for free, and they might give you a free room...
As with everything in life, where there is a will, there is a way. Dont be afraid to use your imagination.
Nothing wrong with the weather at the moment, so a nice nap under the stars isnt such a bad idea until you find something better.

You can stay at a hostel for cheap less than $20. or if you are really feeling poor you can stay at one of the 24 hour saunas. I am assuming you mean Seoul since you have not specified a particular city. But most major cities Taegu, Pyeaontek, Busan have the same accommodations listed above. If you are looking for an, ahem, hourly rate room. Try any of the motels. Do NOT use prostitutes human trafficking is a problem in Korea and many other countries.

You can go to just about any city, village or small town and find a cheap hotel. I've paid anywhere from 35USD in a small town, to 150USD for a hotel near Inchon airport.
