Is it deemed to be self defence if someone is just about to rob you but you attack them first or do you have to wait until they do you over ?

I know I shouldnt be asking other people but we havent been together for more than 2 months and I dont have any idea what to get him.

He's a big guy, and big as in muscular. He loves sports and loves the Yankees and the Giants, and I often watch the games with him. He plays football and used to wrestle. He's currently trying to lose weight so working out is a big part of his life right now. He wears polo's often but he's currently at college in upstate New York.

There's a lady at work who causes all sorts of problems. She thrives on trouble and has an exalted opinion of herself. I've heard several say they wish she'd get fired. I am cordial to her but keep my distance. The same workers who think she should be fired, will hang with her. It's like they are drawn. Why is this?

At least I can never be (unless I exercise 100% emotional restraint). There was a girl who worked in my lab - she was short and very ordinary looking, but we still spent time together in our work & used to sometimes hang out, and along with other friends as well & you know...have a good time. Now, I don't know what has happened to me - I have caught feelings for her & every time I am around her, I feel you know...wierd & wanting to "involve" with her. Now, I haven't told her about this yet because of two reasons:

1. I am not ready for a relationship at the moment, due to financial circumstances
2. Fear of rejection & eventual chaos

I am just worried if I can really hold out for any longer. Another thing that confuses me is that I never wanted to talk to her or hang out in the first place, it was always she who made the approach & me being a nice guy followed her - so, has she actually "won" me?

Just had motor put in. when I hook up the wiring harness to the egr valve, it sputters and wants to stall out. Is this a bad egr valve, or something worse, like incompatible computer module?

My home was broken into in Nov 2005 and the only things stolen were my two parrots. These birds had been with me for over twenty years. The thieves have been identified and are going to trial in a month. I feel so helpless. I think I now understand why people bring guns into a courtroom. These 3 guys have taken my "babies" and will probably get a slap on the wrist. In the meantime they say one of the birds died within a month and won't tell the police anything on the whereabouts of the other bird. All I want is my bird back. What can I do? Ummm legally that is.

Has all America watched it, I mean has it been widely broadcast on TV over there? If it IS true AND proven....how would that effect the peoples perception of the government and could anything be done about it?

I know in Australia, if a government deception is suspected or known....the people can demand Governer General intervention/investigation and dissolution of the Prime Ministers term. Do you have a similar thing in USA?

In the light of so many unanswered questions....why is the government not allowing all video tapes, black box info and entire calls to be freely available? I just dont understand why the government are not transparent in their dealings with the American people...and why the people including TV presenters dont demand it also?
