what makes the sky white?

i've been thinking for the last couple months that i never see a blue sky anymore; i'm around detroit. it's not normal clouds.. just wondering what exactly.

Probably a combination of humidity and pollution. It happens here in Ohio, too. Usually once fall hits, the humidity levels drop and the sky turns blue again.

It is called "Smog" or airborne industrial pollutants. I know, I lived in LA, California for 40 years admiring our industrial fog!
