Denzel Washington recently visited Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio Texas...where many of our wounded soilders are taken care of....There are houses(fisher houses) near the hospital which the families of the wounded soilders can come stay(like Ronald McDonald house)..Denzel asked how much it cost to build one of those Fisher houses..with in seconds he wrote out a check for another house. How many of youhave heard any of this news anywhere..I'm sure all media is covering Brittany's new baby. Thanks Alot Denzel!

Why do they refer to what the republicans and in general the democrats as well consistently institute in economic policy as laissez-faire? They are attempting to get rid of any kind of regulation, and social services as well, including attempts to privatize social security, etc., but on the other side they keep instituting more and more corporate welfare? Tax cuts and favors, states bidding through lowering taxes to attract businesses, etc...

My question is how does this count as laissez-faire? How can they have it both ways? If it's laissez-faire, if it's about competition, why do they keep bailing corporations out when they bankrupt themselves? And how is deregulation involved in laissez-faire economics?

The closest thing to a completely laissez-faire economic system would be the bare minimum of patent/copyright law, the bare minimum of social services to the people, and absolutely no tax bidding/corporate welfare/government grants, etc., wouldn't it? And unrelated, they would

I personally think the television. Now with news stations on the internet allowing users to watch video, and the iPod and other devices allowing people to download video, movies, and music videos. I think it would only be a matter of time before television literraly becomes history. I used to run home to watch the news, and my favorite show 24. Now I can watch it on the internet and download the episode to my computer and watch it when ever I get the chance. I rarely use the television anymore, except when I want to watch specials like 20/20 or dateline NBC. (and even that you can download on the internet as well) which brings me back to my question What technological item do you think is going to become obsolete in the not to far distant future?

My girlfriend is pregnant and moody, possibly bi-polar. She is stubborn and impossible to talk to when she gets this way. She move me in with her 2 mos. ago and now kicked me out. We ea. have two kids (mine are at their mother's house) so that complicates matters. She says that living me is like walking on eggshells and I told her it is the same with living with her.

I love her and I do not want her to have this baby without me. She says we cannot live together and will not even talk to me, answer my emails, etc. I even dropped some roses off at her house with a long letter telling her how much I love her and want to try and work things out.

She has done similar 2x before we were living with each other. It takes about a week or so for her to come around. I love her more than I can bear. What should I do?
