I'm a single man trapped in a society that demands that you can only be happy if you have a fine young lady on your arm and wishing to become entwined in your pants. Given my own dating history, I just can NOT meet women the way I'd like to (don't think that you're going to reveal to me what my problem is, because you won't. NO ONE has yet). I've come to the conclusion that maybe I'm just not supposed to have any significant other in my life. To that end, I've been focusing on me. However, my friends and family see me not trying to get laid every friday night, and refuse to accept the fact that I'm trying to be happy with my perpetual singlehood. It's not as if NOT trying is any different that what things were like when I WAS trying anyway. Why do they insist that I need a girlfriend if I want to be happy?
