I just finished watching "Water" an Indian movie about the oppression widows in their society must face. Religious beliefs keep these women (34 million as of 2001) alienated from society, suffering poverty many of which resort to prostitution to survive.

These women are by afflicted by a stigma & religious belief system that keeps them from remarrying. It takes brave individuals to stand up to dysfunctional religious beliefs, even if some "holy" text prescribes such modes of living.

This begs the question, what other things do we believe because a book, cultural, & or tradition tells us so? I once followed more so religious texts than my conscience. My conscience began to pang, so hard that I literally felt like I was drowning. Thank God I listened to the wisdom that was in my heart then perpetuating suffering via legalism.

I encourage all others to do the same by bravely speaking out against any idea, regardless of its source, which causes more suffering than alleviation.

i been trying to concieve for 12 yrs and just so stressed out,,,,,,i always think about it wanting a baby,,,,,,,,its on my mind all the time and when i see the house so lonely its even worst i feel like i need a child to raise ,,,,i am thniking about adopting but that even hard to do they don't have babys aviaible they are older i want a child less than a year because they will be raised with your ways and knowing only you,,,but its hard i am thinking of going to mexico over thay have alot of babys and i can adopt but how do i get the papers work started and is it hard expensive??????? if i do it myself and someone over there in my family could help me getting information i guess? i really didn't know where to post my question??/

Portugal controlled Macau and East Timor from the 15th to the 20th centuries, including during World War II. During the war, Japan invaded almost all the countries of Asia, including the colonial possessions of England (Hong Kong, Burma, etc) and France (Polynesia, Indochina, etc). What did the Japanese do about these Portuguese territories, if Japan was not at war with Portugal? Did they remain independent? Did people from Hong Kong use Macau as a safe haven, and people from Indonesia use East Timor as a safe haven?

My son is away at college but for several years, before he left, played computer games for countless hours at a time.

I'm buying an used car and would like to know if I will be able to transfer the title to my name using an Internation Driver's License along with the license issued by my country.
