Fun stuff, eh?

Mind over matter is the belief of when the mind controls physical things. All physical things are said to be made of matter in science. Mind over matter is a old and false way of explaining how the mind can contol objects. In reality however, it is fairly well understood in science and by mystics that matter actually is mind. So the statement mind over matter has come to really mean nothing at all, because it is a false perception.

It is when you can use your mind to control the physical. Like people that walk on hot coals they use their mind to imagine they are walking on a normal land so the nerves in there feet that are going to their brain saying hot it is burning does not register because there thought is so strong they can over rule the actual pain. So when people say sometimes i can not do it or it is too hard others will say it is just mind over matter. Like that child's story about the train that could. If you think you can then you can. But not only think you must truly believe in yourself.

Kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Our actions and body react based on our thoughts. If you're thinking negative things, I.E. you have a broken bone and you think it's never goin to heal and you'll be a cripple for life, then your body will catch up to the way you are thinking and just literally make sure it doesn't heal. But if you believed you'd get better and be fine, your body will react to the positive thoughts and supposedly work at fulfilling it. Basic example is depression...when people are depressed, they physically affected, no? But if you're happy, you can tell that too, yea? Mind over matter.

sometimes you have to belive you can do something before your body will let you do it.
for example, If you tell yourself you can't get on that horse, because you might fall off, your body will resist too.
Tell yourself that it's going to be so much fun riding and whocares if you fall off, and you will pick it up easier.
So i guess mind over matter is using thought to help overcome a difficult or scary situtuation. There's a lot of truth in the saying 'possitive thinking gets positive results'

As I see it this is when someone is able use their mind in a way to make matter disobey the laws of physics. For example what we call a miracle when water can be changed into wine.Similarly with water divining it is possible to tell where the water is running by thinking water.then finding the depth by thinking depth. The rod bends in different places.

It's when you convince your brain that you're not doing what you're doing physically.
Fear Factor is a perfect example of that:
If you can convince your brain that you're not eating a horse rectum, you'll be able to do it without any trouble. However, Mind over matter isnt very easy.

I think that it means that you are able to control something by making up your mind and sticking with it. alot of times that is half the battle, making up your mind and having a great attitude.
