I don't think its an age. I think this depends on the "american" man. My brother is 23 years old and serving in the US Army he moved out at 19 since then he has only asked my mom for money one time and he paid it back. He doesn't ask her for anything. She actually goes to him and ask him for money. I really don't think it depends on the age but rather the person.

Sad to say but a lot of them never do.My husband never asked for any after he turned 17 but he's an exception to the rule.More men should learn to stand on their own 2 feet.
